This year we celebrated 10 years of the Nutrition Centre with a special ceremony for our staff and current patients that was attended by those who helped get the centre up and running originally, as well as representatives from the Health Service, the church and the press.
Over the last 10 years more than 5000 lives of children suffering from malnutrition have been saved because of the nutrition centre. We were overjoyed to welcome back some of the first group who received care here who are now all strong, healthy and attending school.
As well as celebrating the centre’s achievements so far, we looked to the future with the opening of two new buildings. One is a high dependancy unit to treat children with other medical needs on top of malnutrition and the other is a staff house connected to the centre making it easier to oversee patients in the evening and weekends.
The Nutrition Centre has come so far in the last 10 years and we look forward to seeing what the next 10 years will bring!
